Therapeutic Interventions

Evidenced-Based Treatment

As a counselor, I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and integrate other therapies including Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Psychodynamic, and Attachment Theory. These are evidence-based theories that have been shown to be effective in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, family system issues, and much more.

When using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in sessions, I will help you begin to identify thoughts, emotions, and experiences that are contributing to unwanted behaviors or feelings. Together, using a collaborative approach, we will work to challenge thoughts and beliefs that are no longer serving you and develop healthier, adaptive belief systems. When you change your thoughts, you change your world. As your counselor, I’ll work to help you reframe negative or unwanted thoughts and take on a new perspective.

Solution Focused Therapy works by reframing one’s focus on the potential solutions instead of the problems. Solution Focused Therapy is an incredible tool at producing more hopefulness because instead of constantly focusing on what is NOT working, we start focusing on what IS working in your life.
